There are lots of different volunteering opportunities available at the Carshalton Eco-Fair such as organising the music and performing art stages, promoting the fair, helping in the office, liaising with stall holders and more. It is a not-for-profit fundraising event run by volunteers at charity EcoLocal. We are looking for more volunteers to get involved …
Once a month we sell plants at Wallington Farmers’ Market to help raise funds for our community allotment.
We need help on the Thursday or Friday before the market once a month to:
– sort out which plants look big enough/healthy enough to go to market,
– put the chosen plants into crates/boxes and help load them into our van/car
– make a list of all the plants and make labels with pictures of the plant in flower to help sell the plant. We have a template for the labels, but where a plant has not been sold before this will involve using the internet to find an image of the plant, research the basic growing requirements of the plant and summarise this. Then print out all the labels required onto card, cut them up and sellotape them onto sticks.

We are looking for a lively enthusiastic volunteer to assist with promoting the Wallington Farmers’ Market. Wallington Farmers’ Market is a community based initiative, which seeks to promote quality affordable local food in the local area. This volunteer role will suit anyone interested in local food production, marketing and promotions and is an early riser. It will involve both office based work at the EcoLocal Offices and work at the Market itself.
