Wallington Farmers’ Market is back this Saturday 8th, 9am–1pm around the Old Town Hall and Library Gardens. Pop along to meet the makers, enjoy live jazz from The Macaroons, be entertained by the Madder Mill Molly dancers, and support a truly local, sustainable community event.
All your favourite foods will be there — from fresh fruit and free-range eggs to local honey, artisan cheeses, microbrewery beer, grass-fed beef, organic bread, hand made chocolates, seasonal veg, micro-greens, English-grown nuts, Sussex spirits, vegan dishes, and plenty of sweet and savoury treats, pies, aromatherapy skincare and more… This month, we’re celebrating our talented producers of local preserves that go far beyond anything you’ll find on supermarket shelves. Jam Packed Preserves began with surplus allotment fruit and a cherished family recipe. To this day each jar is handmade in small batches using locally grown or ethically sourced ingredients and no artificial additives — delivering rich, vibrant, seasonal flavours. Heart & Soul bring peanut butter with a difference, made from high-oleic peanuts and organic oils for pure, wholesome flavour. Their motto: “either the best or nothing.” You’ll also find The Super Hot Chilli Company with their fiercely flavoursome sauces, and Nut Farms with nut butters and chocolate spreads made from Kentish Cobnuts, English Walnuts, cacao and honey. Don’t forget — bring your jars back for reuse!
