Record numbers have attended EcoLocal’s inclusive cycling sessions. Over 400 people have taken part so far this Summer 2018, benefiting from fun sessions using accessible cycles at the David Weir Leisure Centre. The cycling activity is held on the athletics track and cycle instructors are on hand to make sure everybody gets the best out of the session. EcoLocal can teach adults to learn to ride on two wheels, and enable people with disabilities to experience cycling with their wide range of specialist trikes, hand cycles, recumbents, wheelchair bikes and even side-by-sides.
Graham said “We started coming because it’s a safe place for my daughter to cycle and help her keep fit. It’s benefited both of us, because Kirsten and I don’t often get an opportunity to come out together, so this is an opportunity for us to do something together. And I cycle round the track too so we both get the benefit. We thoroughly enjoy it, it’s a great thing to do!”
Over the school summer holidays EcoLocal will be running Family Cycling sessions on Wednesdays as well as our usual adult inclusive sessions three times per week.
