🎩✨ Magical Easter Holiday Cycling Sessions – 7+ ✨🚴‍♀️

This Easter, the track is alive with the hum of wheels, laughter, and a hint of enchantment! Join us for Inclusive Family Cycling Sessions where every young witch, wizard, and muggle-aged 7+ can pedal, practice, and have a little magic of their own—as long as they bring an adult along.

🗓 Dates:

Wednesday 1st & Thursday 2nd April

Wednesday 8th & Thursday 9th April

⏰ Time: 12:00 – 1:00pm (no early arrivals on the track, even magic can’t speed things up!)

💰 Cost: £2.50 per child per session – pay on the day (cash or card, exact cash only if paying coins).
📍 Where: Athletics track at David Weir Leisure Centre, Middleton Road, Carshalton, SM5 1SL

🧙‍♂️ Spells and Safety:

Accessible cycles for all abilities

Friendly session staff who understand all sorts of magical (and not-so-magical) needs, including physical or learning differences and autistic spectrum

Safe, off-road track – rain or shine!

Helmets available if you feel the need for extra protection from flying broomsticks 🪄

A chance to practice cycling skills, make friends, and have heaps of fun

🌿 Creating Hampton Court’s Kitchen Garden 🌿

Join us for a fascinating evening talk on Friday 27th March exploring how an historic royal kitchen garden was brought back to life at Hampton Court Palace.

Vicki Cooke, a passionate community gardener with a love of garden heritage and edible growing, will share the story behind recreating this remarkable space — combining history, practical gardening and traditional methods.

🌱 Learn about heritage planting and historic garden design
🌿 Be inspired by how these ideas can still be used today

It’s Wallington Farmers’ Market this Saturday and I’m really looking forward to being back.

After all the grey weather lately, it feels good to get outside, wander around the stalls, chat to the producers and take everything in.

There is something really uplifting about a market morning, fresh air, good conversations and so many lovely local produce in one place.

The forecast is dry, let’s hope it stays that way. It will be a bit colder though, with temperatures dropping to around 3 degrees, so definitely wrap up warm.

I’ll be there with Just Be Natural - natural skincare and aromatherapy blends.

And if Mother’s Day is still on your to-do list, I’ll have some ready-wrapped gift ideas to make things simple.

As evening falls over Carshalton and the light begins to soften, Surrey Organic Gardeners invite you to gather for a special exploration of one of our most remarkable local treasures.

On this particular Friday evening, our focus turns to the quiet, persistent force that flows through our landscape: the River Wandle.

In “Wandle: River at Risk”, Bobby Dean introduces and presents his documentary exploring the river’s rich history, the challenges it now faces, and the conservation efforts working to secure its future.

For centuries, the Wandle has shaped industry, supported wildlife, and connected communities. Yet today, like so many natural habitats, it faces mounting pressures from pollution and environmental strain.

This evening offers more than a film. It is an opportunity to understand the delicate balance of a living river — and to discuss the measures being taken, and those still needed, to protect it. There will be time for questions, conversation, and shared reflection.
